Join us for a week of movement, creativity, connection, and renewal on the breathtaking Pacific coast of Mexico.
Nestled between lush jungle and the sparkling waters of Banderas Bay, Mar de Jade is more than a retreat centre—it’s a place to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with what truly nourishes you. Surrounded by nature and supported by a warm, welcoming community, you’ll have the opportunity to step away from the demands of daily life and immerse yourself in a week dedicated to wellness, creativity, and joy.
Each morning begins with sunrise yoga overlooking the ocean, awakening the body and calming the mind as the day unfolds. Throughout the week, you’ll enjoy inspiring painting workshops with acclaimed artist Vivian Tanga, who will guide you through a creative journey designed for all skill levels—from complete beginners to experienced artists.
You’ll also receive a personalized bodywork session with Jodie Duplisea, drawing on more than 30 years of experience in yoga therapy, osteopathy, massage, aquatic bodywork, and nervous system regulation. These sessions are designed to help you release tension, restore balance, and support your unique wellness goals.
Between classes, enjoy delicious farm-to-table meals, relax by the ocean, paddleboard, swim, stroll along the beach, indulge in a spa treatment, or simply unwind in a hammock beneath the palms. There is ample free time to rest, explore, and absorb the beauty of your surroundings.
What makes Mar de Jade especially special is its commitment to community, sustainability, and meaningful impact. Through its support of local schools, vocational training programs, and organic farming initiatives, the retreat centre creates opportunities for guests to connect with the culture and people who call this remarkable place home.
Whether you come seeking rest, inspiration, creativity, friendship, or simply a chance to reconnect with yourself, this retreat offers a rare opportunity to nourish body, mind, and spirit in one of Mexico’s most beautiful and heart-centered destinations.

Jodie Duplisea and Vivian Tanga
Jodie Duplisea
Jodie Duplisea has spent more than 30 years exploring the art and science of healing. Her journey began after a childhood gymnastics accident left her with a broken neck, an experience that sparked a lifelong fascination with the body’s remarkable capacity to heal and adapt.
Since then, she has traveled extensively throughout North America, Mexico, Asia, and the South Pacific, studying diverse approaches to health, wellness, movement, bodywork, meditation, and personal transformation. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Health Policy and Administration, but her greatest education has come through decades of hands-on experience helping thousands of people navigate stress, pain, burnout, life transitions, and the pursuit of greater well-being.
Jodie founded one of Quebec’s pioneering wellness centres and has worked in settings ranging from oncology and palliative care programs to private practice, retreats, yoga studios, therapy pools, and wellness centres. Her work blends yoga, aquatic therapy, osteopathy, massage, meditation, nutrition, nervous system regulation, and a deep respect for the healing power of nature and human connection.
Today, she is passionate about creating meaningful retreats in extraordinary places around the world—experiences that go beyond a vacation and invite people to reconnect with themselves, their creativity, their health, and what matters most. Whether guiding yoga beside the ocean, sharing a meal with new friends, swimming with whales, or watching the sunset after a day of exploration, Jodie believes that some of life’s most profound healing happens when we step away from routine and immerse ourselves in beauty, community, and purpose.
Vivian Tanga
Vivian Tanga is a professional artist, instructor, and lifelong student of beauty, creativity, and observation. Based in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, she received her classical training at the Schuler School of Fine Art in Baltimore before apprenticing with renowned representational painter Will Wilson.
An award-winning artist whose work has been recognized by organizations including the Portrait Society of America, the Art Renewal Center, and the Almenara Art Prize, Vivian is known not only for her artistic excellence but also for her warm, encouraging teaching style. She believes that art is not simply about learning techniques, but about learning to see the world with greater curiosity, presence, and appreciation.
Vivian teaches workshops throughout Mexico and the United States, helping students of all levels discover confidence, creativity, and joy through painting. Whether you are an experienced artist or have never picked up a brush, her approach makes the creative process accessible, inspiring, and deeply rewarding.
During this retreat, Vivian will guide participants through a series of painting experiences inspired by the beauty of the ocean, nature, and everyday moments. Her goal is to help each student quiet their inner critic, trust their creative instincts, and reconnect with the simple pleasure of creating.
As Vivian often reminds her students, art is not about perfection—it is about paying attention, embracing the process, and discovering something new about yourself along the way.
