About the Retreat
Steps from the ocean in Nayarit, Mexico, lies the beautiful resort of Mar De Jade. Join us for a week embraced by community, nature, and nourishment here. In this paradise, embrace the support of fellow yoga teachers and your ability to support others during this 30-hour Yoga Alliance continuing education certified training and retreat led by Amber Cook-Green. On this retreat, you will integrate anatomically safe creative sequencing, explore the subtle body for the sensitive teacher, guide students with injuries in an informed way, study philosophy, learn and practice mindful assists, and teach while giving/receiving feedback as an art form. Most importantly, you will engage in supportive conversations with other yoga teachers walking the path.
About the Teachers
Amber Cook- Green
With 17 years of teaching, a poetry degree from Columbia College, and as a board-certified Physical Therapy Assistant, I guide students through yoga that heals both body and soul. I have a unique approach that weaves together the anatomical precision of physical therapy, the linguistic beauty of poetry, the ancient wisdom of yoga philosophy, the practical application of props and alignment, and the transformative power of conscious breathing.. I am heavily influenced by Krishnamacharya lineage having completed many trainings at Moksha Yoga Center in Chicago. I am also influenced by Gabriel Halpern of the Iyengar tradition, Smart Yoga (Annie Carpenter), Jason Crandell’s postural yoga, and Para Yoga which is in the Himalayan tradition. I bridge worlds that too often remain separate. I believe healing should be both effective AND beautiful. I believe yoga instruction can be both therapeutically sound AND spiritually inspiring.
