About the Teachers

Lila Heller & Katie Ybarra

Lila Heller

YOU are the reason that I’m here.

I am passionate about education, movement and well-being. I am a movement coach, retreat creator, and mother.  Dance brought me into the wellness world and my love for the human experience and learning about the body has kept me here. I have taught hundreds of people over the last 20 years and my fascination with this ever growing body of work and how I can help each individual who comes to me keeps growing.

I love to learn and I believe that there are many ways to build strength, flexibility, and mobility. I draw on many years of study in Pilates, Yoga, Primal Movement, Applied Neurology (Z-Health), Meditation, Habit Change, and Nonviolent Communication to help each individual who works with me. Every one of us is unique in our makeup, and I am dedicated to finding the movement path that best fits each person.

I hold a BA in Anthropology/Sociology and Dance as well as countless certifications in health & fitness related fields.

I grew up in a very small town in Southern Oregon and spent my days in the outdoors. I have a deep appreciation for the simple things in life and incorporate simplicity in my work.

“It is in the small things; where the extraordinary lives.”

Katie Ybarra

Katie Ybarra was classically trained, receiving her Pilates certification in the Ron Fletcher Technique back in 1999. She has been teaching Pilates for 20+ years. Most of those years have been spent working alongside her friend and colleague, Lila Heller. She is also a  certified Yamuna practitioner and am is looking forward to bringing the Yamuna body rolling work to the retreat.

As a former dancer, she is a lover of movement. She believes that movement is medicine; physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
