About the Retreat

Join us for a week of embodied practice.

Days will begin with morning meditation and gentle movement, followed by a delicious breakfast. Most days will have dance and strength practices to get you in your body and feel empowered.

Afternoons will allow you free time to wonder to the beach, take a nap, read that book that you’ve had on the backburner, chat with other Hermosas, journal, or whatever else your heart desires. As we close each day with intention, there will be an offering of gentle yoga to unwind before dinner.

This Hermosas Retreat weaves together daily movement practices, soul nourishing food, time for deep connection to ourselves and other amazing women, lots of laughter and healing.

About the Teachers

Heather Alaine

Hola, Loves! I am a fierce advocate of love, and a believer in the transformative powers of reflection, connection, gratitude, laughter and movement to live more fully. I grew up overseas in Rota, Spain which is where I began my professional dance journey. I have studied modern, ballet, folkloric, and hip-hop and over the years have developed my own style which is a fusion of dance expression. Tae Kwon Do, kickboxing and other forms of movement joined the party when I moved to the Bay Area wayyyy back in 1997. My love for learning and passion for wellness led me to become a certified personal trainer, massage practitioner, and yoga teacher. As a wellness nerd, I am rooted in exploring the connections between brain and body and believe the aging journey can be filled with radical self-love, strength and grace. In addition to teaching a myriad of movement classes, I am a Wellness Coach and movement teacher for U.C. Berkeley staff, creator and leader of Hermosas Retreats, a Women’s Transformational Coach for my signature program, Be & Become, and an author (READY). In my downtime, I can be found soaking in a hot tub, hiking in the redwoods, playing with Khai and Vivie (being a doggie auntie is the best!) or sipping on champagne and eating tapas. I am a PCC, national-board certified health and wellness coach who is committed to helping you change the relationship that you have with your body. I want you to love yourself well, and embrace all that’s possible for your life. And ultimately, one day, I want you to look into your bathroom mirror and say, “Hi, beautiful” or “Damn, you’re so strong and powerful” and actually mean it. At the Hermosas: Women’s Wellness Retreat, we will talk about eating in healthy and do-able ways, how to keep YOU on your list of priorities and you will leave with some easeful ways to bring the retreat home with you.”
