About the Teachers

Adi Amar

Adi Amar was introduced to yoga in 1994 and has been studying and practicing yoga sincerely since the age of 15. She completed her first formal training in 2001 at Mount Madonna under the guidance of Baba Hari Das.

Adi was hooked by the practice of Yoga as a mental, emotional, and physical healing system. In 1998, Adi had the fortunate experience to practice with Tim Miller and was instantly drawn to the Ashtanga Yoga method. After years of dedicating herself to the Ashtanga practice she began exploring other methods that would assist her in healing a major knee injury from skiing.

She started studying Iyengar Yoga and integrated a slower approach to her practice and teaching. As a result, Adi weaves detailed alignment within Vinyasa style yoga classes. Adi believes that consistent practice with open awareness is the window into reorganizing old mental patterns and tendencies that have been knowingly or unknowingly ingrained into how we operate and experience life. Through utilizing technologies for well being, Adi strives to inspire a passion for regular practice and taking responsibility for one’s own experience of living life to the fullest. Adi offers methods for individuals to extend his/her own growth and wisdom within inspiring classes that integrate the spiritual and philosophical teachings of Yoga.

Neesha Zollinger

Neesha Zollinger finds unparalleled joy in movement, presence, and the simple act of attention.  She has dedicated herself to sharing this passion with her students. As a Yoga Alliance E-RYT-500, Certified Anusara Yoga® Instructor, and Owner of Akasha Yoga in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Neesha brings 27 years of yoga and dance experience to her classes, workshops, and trainings. Neesha grew up dancing, and she embarked on a formal yoga practice in 1990.  She first came to Jackson Hole to practice and perform with a professional dance group.  She discovered Anusara yoga in this mountain town, studying under Margot Snowden in the very studio space she now owns, Akasha Yoga.  While her natural flexibility gave her access to a wide variety of poses, yoga also cast light on her tendencies to go out of balance – both in asana and in life.  Years of curious inquiry and mindful practice have brought balance into her world and taught her how to enjoy more energy, stamina, strength, and stability – qualities she has called upon tirelessly as she raises her five-year old daughter, Stella.  Neesha’s teaching focuses on empowering others to find these same sources of health, happiness, and renewal through detailed knowledge of the body and the steady work of paying attention. The yoga community is central to Neesha’s groundedness, and her teachings emphasize the creation of connection through both the practice and the conversation of yoga.  She loves to study anatomy and philosophy in all of its forms, and she finds that her investigations are enriched immeasurably by the exchange of ideas with her companions on the yogic journey. Neesha’s teaching has taken her around the globe several times.  She is a featured instructor on yogatoday.com who also hosts her own virtual training courses, live workshops, and virtual/live teacher trainings.
