Join Iyengar teacher Eve Holbrook for her 5th annual retreat on Mexico’s majestic Pacific coast. Eve will lead an active asana class in the morning and a restorative pranayama class in the evening, both suitable for all levels. There will be free time between sessions for activities such as swimming, hiking, cultural excursions, spa treatments and simply unwinding at Mar de Jade.
Eve will teach two yoga classes each day in an inspiring studio with a full rope wall – an active asana practice in the morning and a restorative pranayama practice in the evening, both suitable for all levels. If you have any physical issues or injuries, I will help you modify for them.
There will be plenty of time between sessions for optional excursions (including a tour of the Altavista petroglyphs, traditional Mexican markets, nearby villages and beach towns, whale watching, and a boat trip), spa treatments, or simply relaxing at Mar de Jade.
Eve Holbrook
Eve has been practicing yoga for 25 years. Initially drawn to it for relief from chronic back pain following a childhood horseback riding injury, she has grown to view yoga as an exploration of the nature of life and what it is to be a human being; to see ourselves truthfully, discover what is important to us, and weave that insight into the way we live our lives. In 2001, Eve began teaching classes for actors at theatre companies and studios in New York City. Since then, she completed a two-year teacher-training program at the Iyengar Institute of New York, earned a national certification from IYNAUS(Iyengar Yoga National Association of the United States) at the Junior Intermediate Two level, and founded of The Nerve of Expression, a community project offering yogato artists with multiple sclerosis. She now teaches at The Iyengar Institute, Yogasana Center, Samamkaya Backcare Center for Backcare and Scoliosis Collective, Yogaworks, and privately. eveyogaspace.com
