Join Alek Trail from Barefoot Movement yoga studio in Oakland, California for 8 days and 7 nights in Chacala, Mexico just an hour and a half north of Puerto Vallarta.
This retreat is an opportunity to practice yoga together in a beautiful, natural setting, away from the usual distractions of daily life. We will explore a balanced practice including asana, movement, breathing techniques, and relaxation. Classes will be offered in a way to accommodate a variety of levels with the expectation that students are in relatively good physical condition and have a solid familiarity with Vinyasa Flow Yoga’s commonly used asanas and transitions. All students are (always) encouraged to modify the practice so that it meets their needs.
Alek will lead a total of 12 classes yoga classes with assistants. This retreat is for students in relatively good physical condition, who have a solid familiarity with Vinyasa Flow Yoga’s commonly used asanas and transitions.

Alek Trail
Alek came to yoga in her late teens, and since then has been exploring and experimenting with the physical and mental practice as a way to stay curious, humbled, and connected. With a background in modern dance and improvisational movement, yoga has provided her different perspectives to approaches and refine the body and mind in subtler ways. With her teaching philosophy rooted in authenticity, kinesthetic awareness, and inquiry, her classes give her students a deeper sense of their inner-landscape into which they can dive deeper intellectually, spiritually, and physically. She creates an experience for her students that allows them to hone awareness, drop in, and gain more mindful insight into their own unique personal practice. Alek received her 500-hr certification with Leah Gillman at Barefoot Movement in Downtown Oakland and currently studies Shadow Yoga with Mark Horner in Berkeley, CA. alektrail.com
