Join Bloom Yoga Studio teachers Rebecca and Kathleen for a week-long yoga retreat at Mar de Jade Wellness Resort and Retreat Center in Chacala, Mexico.
Rebecca and Kathleen will offer two classes daily and Mar de Jade will provide three fresh, local, organic meals daily, leaving ample time to relax and explore. You don’t want to miss this week of yoga to connect back into your summer practices and nurture your mind, body and soul in a breath-taking setting.
Rebecca and Kathleen will alternate teaching invigorating morning classes and restorative, relaxing afternoon sessions. Both teachers believe in the adaptability and accessibility of yoga. They challenge their students to fully surrender and embrace the softer side of yoga. Morning and afternoon classes may include pranayama practice, meditation, and mindfulness practices. All classes are optional.
Kathleen Matuszewich
Kathleen Matuszewich was introduced to yoga by her college modern dance teacher Anna Leo, while studying at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Kathleen continued to dance following college and practiced yoga, primarily as a way to relieve some of her body aches and pains. As her dance career faded into motherhood, her interest in yoga moved from merely physical to much more. Eager to deepen her study of and relationship with yoga, Kathleen completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training in June 2015 at Bloom Yoga Studio. She is grateful to the Bloom family: Kerry and Sharon for their support and guidance, and to Dee Davis and Dede Fuentes for sharing their classes, humor, encouragement and more. Kathleen loves taking yoga classes, and continues to ponder yoga’s many gifts on the mat and off. She teaches yoga as she taught dance, with a respect to its function and form, a playful willingness to explore, deep curiosity and joy.
Rebecca Groves
Looking for a reprieve from her endurance training, Rebecca walked into a yoga class at the gym. What she did not expect was for her mind and body to shift so dramatically; from that day forward yoga was a part of her life. Yoga has taught her how to slow down and enjoy each moment, a quote she lives by is “Life life in the moment”. She turns to her mat often for answers, she believes that through movement the body is able to teach us many things if we are listening. During a debilitating back injury in 2012 yoga was something that she could do to find peace, it strengthened her personal practice as well as her understanding of the body. As a Registered Yoga Teacher she is able to share her love of yoga with others. She is always looking for playful ways to try new things and venture deeper into the mind and body connection. Her classes fun and energetic with a balance of effort and ease. Her classes are energy-filled yet peaceful Hatha/Vinyasa.
